After 4 seasons of unequal play, QB Spencer Sanders is finally living up to what the coaching staff at Oklahoma State were hoping for him. After leading the Cowboys to a 5-0 start, the team came up just short in a 43-40 overtime loss to TCU Sunday. This, despite jumping out to a 14-0 lead after the first 2 drives of the game resulted in TDs for Oklahoma State. A second half that saw the Cowboys only score 3 points led to the Horned Frogs being able to come back and eventually win the game.

Coming off a 49-0 rout of rival Oklahoma, Texas was in a prime spot for a letdown against Iowa State. It did just that. Barely pulling off the 24-21 victory. QB Quinn Ewers is still a redshirt freshman. To avoid any mistakes, the Longhorns relied on RB Bijan Robinson to carry the load in the crucial parts of the game. Being that Robinson is one of the top backs in the country, this worked well. But the Cowboys are much different than the Cyclones. The Longhorns will need Ewers in this game if they hope to win.

Texas is No. 21 and Oklahoma State is No. 11 in the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.
