First look: Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos odds and lines

The Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0) and Denver Broncos (0-1) meet Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at Steelers vs. Broncos odds from BetMGM Sportsbook before making our expert NFL picks and predictions later in the week.

Both these teams entered Week 1 as underdogs. Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) was a late scratch, pushing QB Justin Fields to start against an Atlanta Falcons team many think will coast to the playoffs.

But the Steelers defense proved to be incredibly efficient, especially against Falcons QB Kirk Cousins, who is still immobile from his Achillies injury last year. It forced 3 turnovers and held Atlanta to 10 points. Offense seems to be a weakness for Pittsburgh, as it failed to reach the end zone. It instead settled for 6 field goals in an 18-10 win, easily covering as a +4.5 underdog and hitting the Under (43.5).

The Broncos visited the Seattle Seahawks and kept things close the entire game. Broncos QB Bo Nix led the team in rushing, but his passing skills appear to be a problem. Like in college, he is not a deep-ball threat; he averaged 3 yards per pass vs. 5.9 yards for Seahawks QB Geno Smith. Nix also threw 2 picks — a tough scenario to pull off a win. The Broncos did cover as 6.5-point underdogs but lost 26-20. The Over (42.5) hit with 2:09 remaining, as Nix ran it in from the 4-yard line.
