Phillies' leadoff hitter Kyle Schwarber made sure his team would not suffer another hitless game by sending Justin Verlander's second pitch of the game into the right field stands. His team, however, just did not have enough to keep up that pace for the entire game.
The Phillies are resting their World Series fate on the arm of Zach Wheeler, hoping to stave off elimination and force a seventh game. Wheeler started Game 2 of the series in which he lasted five innings. In that span, he gave up six hits, walked three batters, and surrendered all five of Houston's runs. He is 1-2 this postseason with a 2.67 ERA. During the regular season, the right-hander was 12-7 with a 2.82 ERA in 26 starts.
