FanDuel Fantasy Golf Picks for the U.S. Open 2023 at Los Angeles Country Club

We are now preparing for the third major on the annual golf calendar as the 2023 U.S. Open is set to tee off at Los Angeles Country Club on Thursday, June 15.

Let's take a look at three golfers to consider when putting together your fantasy team this week.

U.S. Open 2023 Fantasy Picks

With Brooks Koepka's injuries out of the way and coming off a big major win at the PGA Championship, you have to love his chances this week at LACC. At +1100 to win, it still seems like good value for Koepka in a major. He was T2 at The Masters and won the PGA Championship. And while he was terrible in majors during 2022, his injuries clearly were the catalyst behind those struggles. Prior to that, he was just as automatic. Starting from the 2015 U.S. Open going through the 2021 Open Championship (22 starts), he placed outside the top 20 in a major only three times. In that same span, he had 14 top-10 finishes and four wins. When he is right, he is almost always in contention at the majors.

Viktor Hovland has put his name right at the top of the golf world this season, becoming a player that has a legit chance to win every week. He proved it once again when he did just that in his last start at The Memorial less than two weeks ago. He's been fantastic in the year's biggest tournaments too. He was T10 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T3 at THE PLAYERS Championship, T7 at The Masters, and T2 at the PGA Championship. He has proven he can hang with anyone on Tour. He comes into this event with three straight top-20 finishes and two of those three were top-two finishes. His approach play and ball striking have been incredible this year, ranking No. 1 or No. 2 on Tour inside 175 yards. If his putter stays consistent, he might not just be in contention, he could win the whole thing.

U.S. Open Sleepers

Veteran ball strikers are always players to watch for a potentially surprising finish in majors, especially if they have won majors before. Adam Scott fits that bill and he's playing really solid golf coming into Thursday's U.S. Open. He comes into this event on the heels of three consecutive top-10 finishes in PGA Tour events. When it comes to majors, Scott has two top-20 finishes in his last four starts. While his ball striking hasn't been as good as it has been of late, the other parts of his game are flourishing. If he can get his iron play back in line with everything else, he could make a real run in Los Angeles this week.
