The PGA Tour is preparing for its next event, the Shriners Children's Open, set to take place at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, NV this Thursday, October 6 and running through October 9.
With another event carrying a lighter field overall, there are still some top names competing in this event.
Let's take a look at three guys to consider when putting together your fantasy team this week.
Shriners Children's Open 2022 Fantasy Picks
Patrick Cantlay Fantasy
Patrick Cantlay hasn't played an official event this season yet, but he absolutely dominates this event. In his four career starts here, Cantlay has never finished worse than 8th, and the other three finishes were, second, second and a win in 2017. With the weaker field, he could end up runni ng circles around this field, but even at worst you have to give him the benefit of the doubt putting up a top-10 performance, which he has done literally every time he's played in this event.
Taylor Montgomery Fantasy
Taylor Montgomery is new to this event and to this course from a professional standpoint, but he did grow up in Las Vegas and he did attend UNLV, so he should be able to find some comfort playing back in his hometown, presumably in front of family and friends. That comfortability could help him continue his strong start to the season. Montgomery has finished T9 and 3rd in his two events this season. Bank on his hometown help him continuing the great play.
Shriners Children's Open Sleepers 2022
Matthew NeSmith Fantasy
Matthew NeSmith is available at a solid price considering his past success at TPC Summerlin. In his three previous starts on this course, NeSmith finished 18th or better in all of them, including an 8th-place finish in 2020. He is also coming off a solid finish (T9) at the Sanderson Farms Championship. There is potential for a huge week for him again here.
