Fanatics Sportsbook Launches In Virginia, Bet365 Live in Louisiana

A smattering of sports betting app launches swept across the south on Tuesday, with Fanatics Sportsbook launching in Virginia and bet365 going live in Louisiana.'

Meanwhile, Kentucky's Sports Wagering Advisory Council formally approved PENN's rebranding of its platform to ESPN BET, which launched in the Bluegrass State last week.

Fanatics recently acquired PointsBet's U.S. assets, meaning existing PointsBet customers in Virginia can log in using their same email address and password once they download the Fanatics Sportsbook app. According to a press release, each Virginia bettor's PointsBet username, password, account balance, rewards, and responsible gambling settings will be automatically migrated to the Fanatics Sportsbook.

To mark the launch, Fanatics is offering bettors up to 5% back in FanCash, which can be used to purchase team merchandise, during a seven-day “Rewards Surge.” Virginia is the seventh state in which the Fanatics Sportsbook has gone live, following Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia, where last week Fanatics also launched its online casino.

Louisiana lauded for 'passionate culture'

After previously launching in Colorado, Iowa, Kentucky, New Jersey, Ohio, and Virginia, bet365 went live in the Pelican State on Tuesday with a handful of promotions meant to benefit those in parishes that have approved sports betting in Louisiana.
