If you’ve been following along, you already know that last night was a rough one. These nights happen from time to time. This is a tough business, but it’s always important to stick with the process and to know when is a good time to pick certain spots.
Tonight is one of those nights, similar to how I approached Wednesday. I’ll be focusing on only one game and a single player in that game. It might be pretty obvious which game that might be.
Edmonton at NY Rangers (-148, 6.5)
The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a massive 6-3 win last night against the New Jersey Devils, and they’re hoping to carry that momentum tonight into Madison Square Garden. They’ll be taking on a New York Rangers team that is on a three-game heater, but they’re also playing the first night of a back-to-back.
It is more than likely that the Rangers will look to Jonathan Quick in the blue paint tonight. Quick has been excellent all season for New York and shut the Oilers out in the first meeting between these two teams this season. That being said, the Oilers team that Quick faced will not be the same team he sees tonight. It was a group that had been at rock bottom without its star player, Connor McDavid.
