Elon (4-19 SU, 10-11 ATS, 2-8 CAA) travels to Boston to take on Northeastern (8-13 SU, 9-12 ATS, 4-6 CAA) on Saturday at 2pmET.
These teams met twice last season with Elon winning twice and covering both times.
Elon started out 0-8 in the CAA and had not won a game against Division I competition until they upset Drexel 72-58 at home on Jan. 26 as a 6-point underdog. On Thursday, they went on the road and upset Stony Brook 69-55 as a 3-point dog. They held Stony Brook star Frankie Policelli to just 13 points after he scored 34 in the previous game. Jerald Gillens-Butler led the Phoenix with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting, while Max McKinnon added 15 points and eight boards. Elon shot 44% from the field and made 9-of-22 (41%) from three-point range. They held the Seahawks to just 37% from the field and 30% (8-of-27) from long range.

Gillens-Butler (6-5, 227) is the key to their success. He played in just 10 games last season and three the season before due to injury. The talented wing transferred from Butler, after playing sparingly, but was a four-star prospect coming out of high school. He played in just 10 games this season due to injury and is averaging 7.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 23.5 minutes. However, he's averaging 13.8 points over his last four games after a slow start. Guard Sean Halloran (6-0, 160) leads the Phoenix with 12.8 points 4.1 assists on 41% shooting (31.7% 3pt) and is second in the CAA in steals with 2.1 per game.
When it comes to stats, Elon is averaging just 65.9 points per game to rank 11th out of 13 teams in the CAA. They allow 72 points per game (10th) and rank 11th in scoring margin (-6.09). They also shoot 41.9% from the field (10th) and allow teams to shoot 44.2% (9th). They struggle to make three-pointers, making 30.8% to rank 12th in the league. Rebounding is also a concern as the Phoenix rank 9th with a -3.09 margin.
