The Edmonton Oilers face the Winnipeg Jets with both teams hoping to make up ground in the standings. The Oilers have an 8-12-1 record but have won three games in a row to climb out of the bottom of the Pacific Division. The Jets have a 12-7-2 record and with seven wins in their last 10 games, they have the third-best record in the Central Division. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have scored 17 goals and 39 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. Zach Hyman, Evander Kane, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins have combined for 28 goals and 32 assists while defensemen Evan Bouchard and Mattias Ekholm have added eight goals and 22 assists to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense continues to struggle, allowing 3.71 goals per game. Darnell Nurse and Cody Ceci have combined for 2.0 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. In addition, goaltender Stuart Skinner has struggled with a .876 save percentage and a 3.31 goals-against average on 345 shots with -10.8 goal s saved above average.
