Edmonton Oilers vs. Vegas Golden Knights Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 5-3-2023

The Edmonton Oilers face the Vegas Golden Knights in Game One of the Second Round. The Oilers advanced to the Second Round by beating the Los Angeles Kings in a six-game series while the Golden Knights easily took care of the Winnipeg Jets in five games. Both teams look to start the series off strong and Game One should be a great one as a result.

The Oilers won three games in a row to win the First Round with their offense leading the way, scoring 25 goals including 16 goals in the last three games. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl scored 10 goals and 11 assists to lead the top line but the entire offense stepped up. Zach Hyman, Evander Kane, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins have combined for five goals and seven assists while defensemen Evan Bouchard and Mattias Ekholm have added two goals and 12 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 20 goals in the First Round. Bouchard, Ekholm, and Darnell Nurse have led the top two pairings but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. Additionally, goaltender Stuart Skinner struggled in the First Round with a .890 save percentage and a 3.43 goals-against average on 173 shots with -2.9 goals saved above average.
