Edmonton Oilers (2-7-1) vs. Vancouver Canucks (8-2-1)

The 2023-24 NHL season continues Monday, November 6, with the Edmonton Oilers taking on the Vancouver Canucks in the Pacific Division battle at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, with the puck drop at 10:00 PM ET.

Edmonton meets Vancouver for the third time this season, and the Canucks have won their previous two encounters with the Oilers, 8-1 and 4-3. Vancouver is a +104 moneyline underdog, while Edmonton is listed as a -117 road fave with a total of 7.0 goals.

The Edmonton Oilers have been a massive disappointment so far this season. They just finished a four-game homestand with a 1-3-0 record and will try to stop a two-game slide when they face off against the Canucks on Monday night.

Last Friday, the Oilers lost 5-2 to the Nashville Predators. Edmonton outshot Nashville 35-34 and went 2-for-3 with the man advantage, but the Oilers’ defense was disastrous once more. The Oilers are now yielding 4.10 goals per game (30th in the NHL) while holding the fifth-worst penalty-killing percentage in the league (71.8%).

Jack Campbell patrolled the crease last Friday and gave up five goals on 34 shots. He’s now 1-4-0 with a 4.50 GAA and a .873 save percentage on the season, while Stuart Skinner is 1-3-1 with a 3.62 GAA and a .861 save percentage. The Oilers haven’t announced who’ll guard the cage Monday against Vancouver, and it’s impossible to predict who’ll get the starting call. Both Campbell and Skinner have been awful thus far.
