The opening week of the 2023-24 NHL season continues Wednesday, October 11, with the Edmonton Oilers facing off against the Vancouver Canucks in the Pacific Division showdown at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, and the puck drop is set for 10:00 PM ET.

The Edmonton Oilers went 50-23-9 last regular season and finished second in the Pacific Division behind the 2023 Stanley Cup champions, the Vegas Golden Knights. Stuart Skinner is expected to guard the cage Wednesday at Rogers Arena. He had a solid 2022-23 campaign, posting a 29-14-5 record to go with a 2.75 GAA and .914 save percentage. Skinner is 1-1-0 with a 3.05 GAA and .897 SV% in two career starts against Vancouver. Jack Campbell, who went 21-9-4 with a 3.41 GAA and .888 save percentage last regular season, should serve as a backup.
