The Edmonton Oilers face the San Jose Sharks with both teams looking to improve from rocky seasons. The Oilers have a 22-18-3 record and are in the middle of the Pacific Division while the Sharks have a 13-22-8 record and with only three wins in their last ten games are at the bottom of the division. Both teams look to improve in the division and the Western Conference and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Oilers are having a promising season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.56 goals per game with nine goals in the last two games. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have scored 58 goals and 84 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Zach Hyman, and Kailer Yamamoto have combined for 44 goals and 62 assists while defensemen Tyson Barrie and Darnell Nurse have added 11 goals and 40 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.35 goals per game. Darnell Nurse and Cody Ceci have combined for 4.8 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to carry the puck into the offensive zone and easily find open shots on the net.
