The Edmonton Oilers (16-12-0, 32 points, 4th Pacific) pay a visit to the land of Opry on Tuesday to face the Nashville Predators (12-11-2, 26 points, 5th Central). The Edmonton Oilers won their second straight on Saturday when defeating the Minnesota Wild 5-2 and will play Minnesota again on Monday before completing a back-to-back when facing Nashville on Tuesday. Nashville also plays the second part of a back-to-back on Tuesday against Edmonton after playing on the road Monday against St. Louis. The Predators have lost two straight, when falling to the Ottawa Senators 3-2.  Evander Kane and Ryan McLeod are out for Edmonton. Alexandre Carrier and Jeremy Lauzon are questionable for Nashville, while Ryan McDonagh and Mark Borowiecki are out.

The Edmonton Oilers are scoring an average of 3.64 goals per game which is fifth-best in the NHL. The Oilers are averaging 31.9 shots per game which is 15th. Edmonton has the best power play in hockey, scoring 31.6% of the time with the man advantage. Edmonton's scoring machine is led by Connor McDavid with a team high 25 goals, 29 assists and 54 points. Leon Draisaitl is second in goals scored with 19, 2nd in assists with 27 and 2nd in points with 46.  Edmonton has three players with 14 goals or more. Edmonton has scored 31 power play goals in 28 games.

 

While Edmonton is tough to stop with the puck, the Oilers are lacking at the blue line and in goal. Edmonton is allowing an average of 3.46 goals per game which is 22nd in the NHL. The Oilers are allowing an average of 33.2 shots per game which is 26th and Edmon ton has the 28th penalty-kill unit, which is holding opponents scoreless 69.9% of the time the Oilers are short-handed. Stuart Skinner is 9-6-0 with a 2.81 goals-against average in .919 save percentage. Skinner has taken over the No. 1 goalie spot from Jack Campbell.
