The Edmonton Oilers face the New York Islanders with both teams looking to build off of strong seasons. The Islanders have a 14-8-8 record and are in third place in the Metropolitan Division. Both teams look to improve in their divisions and the upcoming game looks to be a great one.

The Oilers have looked promising this season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.43 goals per game with 23 goals in the last six games. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have scored 23 goals and 51 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. Zach Hyman, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Evander Kane have combined for 37 goals and 44 assists while defensemen Evan Bouchard and Darnell Nurse have added 13 goals and 29 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has stepped up but the defense has been a mess, allowing 3.46 goals per game including 12 goals in the last two games. Darnell Nurse and Cody Ceci have combined for 2.9 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease.
