Edmonton Oilers vs. Minnesota Wild Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 12-1-2022

The Edmonton Oilers face the Minnesota Wild with both teams looking to improve from rough starts to the season. The Oilers have a 13-10 record and are on a three-game winning streak while the Wild have a 10-9-2 record and are in the middle of the Central Division. Both teams are looking to improve within their divisions and the Western Conference and the upcoming game looks to be a great one as a result.

The Oilers have looked promising this season behind an offense that is scoring 3.36 goals per game with 13 goals in the last three games. Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins have scored 43 goals and 59 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. Zach Hyman, Warren Foegele, and Jesse Puljujarvi have combined for 13 goals and 21 assists while defensemen Darnell Nurse and Tyson Barrie have added seven goals and 19 assists from the point to help open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.55 goals per game. Darnell Nurse and Cody Ceci have combined for 2.6 defensive point shares and 74 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Jack Campbell is having a rough season in the net with a .875 save pe rcentage and a 4.04 goals-against average on 361 shots.
