The Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at Madison Square Garden. When these two teams faced off last January it was the Rangers that secured the 4-1 victory. 

The Oilers come into this game with a 10-10-0 record and away from home, they have gone 5-4-0. On Wednesday against the New York Islanders the offense really struggled not getting on the board, and that led to the 3-0 defeat. Two games ago against the New Jersey Devils, the Oilers were defeated 5-2. The Oilers are averaging 3.3 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.6 goals per game. Connor McDavid is having a big season scoring 16 goals and adding 19 assists. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Rangers who sit with a 10-7-4 record but they are coming off a loss in their last game. The Rangers were competitive against the Anaheim Ducks but they gave up three goals and that led to the loss. Two games ago against the Los Angeles Kings, the Rangers were able to secure a 5-3 victory. The Rangers are averaging 3.0 goals while their defense is giving up 2.71 goals per game. Adam Fox has scored six goals and added 17 assists so far this year.
