Edmonton Oilers at Calgary Flames – 12/27/22 NHL Picks and Prediction

The Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames face off on Tuesday in an NHL showdown at Scotiabank Saddledome. When these two teams faced off in October it was the Oilers that secured the 3-2 victory. 

The Oilers come into this game with an 18-15-2 record overall and they have gone 9-6-1 away from home. The Oilers have lost three of their last four games the defense has been a big issue heading into this game. On Friday against the Vancouver Canucks, the defense gave up five goals and that led to the three goal defeat. Two games ago against the Dallas Stars, they were able to secure a 6-3 victory. The Oilers are averaging 3.6 goals while their defense is giving up 3.45 goals per game. Connor McDavid has scored 30 goals and added 36 assists. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Flames who sit with a 16-12-7 record and they have gone 10-6-2 at home. In the last game against the Anaheim Ducks the Flames scored three goals, and they won by a goal. Rasmus Andersson finished with four shots on goal and one goal. The Flames are averaging 3.11 goals while their defense is giving up 3.03 goals per game. Elias Lindholm has been the top player for the Flames scoring 11 goals and adding 22 assists so far this season. In this game, the Flames need the offense to be good early to put pressure on the Oilers defense.
