The Eastern Michigan Eagles and Louisiana Ragin Cajuns face off on Saturday in a Week 2 college football showdown at Cajun Field.
Eastern Michigan opened up the season against Eastern Kentucky and the offense looked good on the way to the 42-34 victory. At the end of the first quarter, the final score was 0-0 but the offense was strong in the last three quarters. Under center for Eastern Michigan is Taylor Powell and he completed 21 of his 30 passes for 271 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Running back Samson Evans was a mismatch and he had 15 carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns. The defense really struggled in the last three quarters though and that is something that is going to need to be a lot better here.
On the other side of this matchup is Louisana and they opened up their season with a 24-7 victory over the Southeastern Louisiana Lions. At the end of the first quarter, they were up 10-0 and they never looked back as they cruised to the victory. Chandler Fields is the starting quarterback for this team and he completed 13 of his 20 passses for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Terrance Williams was good on the ground rushing 10 times for 61 yards. Wide receiver Johnny Lumpkin had a big game catching five passes for 72 yards and two touchdowns.
