The East Carolina Pirates will head down to Dallas to take on the SMU Mustangs in AAC play from the Moody Coliseum on ESPN+. SMU leads the head-to-head series, 19-6.
East Carolina moved to 13-12 after defeating Cincinnati in Greenville. The Pirates used a big second half to rally and hand the Bearcats an untimely loss, 75-71. ECU is scoring 69.6 points per game, while allowing 69.3 ppg, and shooting 40.9% from the field.
East Carolina will look to win three straight games for the first time since December here in Dallas. ECU is 4-8 in AAC play, with a 1-6 road record. The Pirates have been without their best player in Javon Small, and Brandon Johnson has stepped up during this stretch. The sophomore forward scored 27 points in the win over SMU last week, and he leads ECU in rebounding at 8.4 rpg, while scoring 13.1 ppg. Sophomore guard RJ Felton has also been sharp in his absence, scoring 18 points or more in four of the last five games, to bring his average to 13.2 ppg.
