The UConn Huskies play host to the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday afternoon in an interesting showdown from Rentschler Field. UConn shocked many when they went to a bowl game last year but a rough start to this season has them still searching for their first win. Duke on the other hand, has handed out surprises this season and finds themselves ranked as they hit the road for this one. These two teams have only squared off once before, which was a 45-14 win for UConn back in 2007, though so much has changed since then, that's a distant memory. This one is expected to go to Duke but having to go on the road could make this interesting for UConn.

The Blue Devils shocked the college football world in week one, taking down Clemson, though haven't shown any signs of slowing down since then. A win over Northwestern came easily and the successes on both ends is evident on this team. It's never easy going on the road in college football but against a UConn team that has struggled, they are certainly going to be carrying confidence and momentum into this one. The Blue Devils have won five in a row dating back to last year, as well as eight of their last nine games overall, showing that this isn't just a flash of success for this group. With games against Notre Dame, NC State, and Florida State, over the next month, it's instrumental that they come away from this one with a win and with their health.

The Blue Devils have a pair of injuries that they will continue to navigate as they head into the weekend. Jaylen Coleman (undis closed) is questionable and has yet to play this season, though once expected to be the team's starting running back, would be a welcome addition back into the fold. Eli Pancol (lower body) remains out from his training camp injury, though the wide receiver room has flexed their depth without him.

The offense is led by Riley Leonard, who put the ACC on notice with his performance against Clemson, through the running game has set the tone. They rank seventh in the country in yards per rush and fifth in rushing yards per game. Given UConn's struggles against the run, Duke's ability to control the clock will be instrumental in finding success in this one. The defense has depth along the defensive line, with five different players registering a sack this season, along with eight players having registered double-digit tackles. After how they performed against Clemson in week one, anything less than an impressive defensive performance against a strugglin g UConn team, would be a disappointment.
