Duke at Boston College – 1/7/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Duke Blue Devils will head up to face the Boston College Eagles in ACC play from the Silvio O. Conte Forum on the ACC Network. Duke leads the all-time series 27-3, and they’ve won seven straight meetings.

Duke dropped to 11-3 after losing to N.C. State in Raleigh. The Blue Devils were served a second straight double-digit road loss by a regional foe, as they were blitzed by the Wolfpack by 24 points. Duke is scoring 72.9 points per game, while allowing 62.4 ppg, and shooting 44.1%.

It’s early, and although we know this is a transition stage for Duke, their road struggles scream red flags. Both losses came within miles of campus at that, so this trip to Boston may say a lot going forward. Duke has played through Kyle Filipowski through the first half of the season. The freshman center double-doubled in the first meeting with BC, and he’s leading Duke in scoring (13.8) and rebounding (8.6). Jeremy Roach (11.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg) has picked up where he left off in March, scoring 21 points against Xavier, and 22 points in the win over Iowa at MSG.  Northwestern transfer Ryan Young has been effective in three ACC games, and posted a 20-point double-double in a win over FSU.
