The Drake Bulldogs will head south and take on the Murray State Racers in MVC action from CFSB Center on ESPN+. Drake won the first meeting of the season four weeks ago, 82-64.
Drake jumped to 19-6 after beating Valpo on the road. The Bulldogs used two overtimes to escape with a three-point victory over the Beacons. Drake is scoring 75.1 points per game, while allowing 65.1 ppg, and shooting 45.9% from the field.
Drake has won their last five games, and they currently sit in a crowded four-way tie atop the conference. The 10-4 in MVC play, with a 4-5 road record. Tucker DeVries’ play has been huge during this stretch, and he enters this one on the heels of a 32-point outing versus Valpo. DeVries’ leads Drake in scoring (19.1), while grabbing 6.1 rpg. Senior point guard Roman Penn went off for 28 points in the win over UNI, and he’s averaging 11.5 ppg and a team-lead 5.3 apg. Fellow veteran guard Garrett Sturtz double-doubled in the win over Indiana State, and he’s up 9.1 ppg and 6.9 rpg.
