The Drake Bulldogs will head to Springfield and face the Missouri State Bears in MVC action from the JQH Arena on ESPN.
Drake jumped to 11-3 after defeating Valpo in Des Moines. The Bulldogs trailed to Beacons at the break, but they regrouped in the second half to pick up the five-point win. Drake is scoring 75.2 points per game, while shooting 46.4% from the floor, and 33.9% from deep.
Tucker DeVries has been strong in the lead role this season, and the hometown product leads Drake in scoring (18.6), while grabbing 6.2 rpg. Veteran point guard Roman Penn (11.2 ppg, 3.8 apg) exploded for 32 points versus Indiana State, and flirted with a triple-double against Saint Louis. Fellow senior guards Garrett Sturtz (9.1 ppg, 6.4 rpg) and D.J. Wilkins (8.2 ppg) remain in the fold, giving Drake one of the more experienced teams in the nation.
