Rookie starting pitcher Emmet Sheehan takes the mound for the Dodgers today. Although he's a solid 2-0 through his first four career starts, he must be better than his latest outing. After all, Sheehan surrendered five earned runs on four hits with four walks over just 3 2/3 innings as the Dodgers lost 9-7 to the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 7.
Having said that, it'll be interesting to see how the Orioles' Grayson Rodriguez performs in his return from Triple-A. The rookie SP looked shaky before being sent to the minors back in May, going 1-2 with a putrid 11.14 ERA in his last five MLB starts.
With how out-of-place Rodriguez looked during his last MLB stint, I'm inclined to side with the Dodgers tonight. Los Angeles' lineup won't leave much breathing room for the rookie hurler, boasting names like Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, J.D. Martinez, and more who could all do some level of damage.

As for the best bet, I'm taking the Dodgers to score over 4.5 runs. They have the third-best offense in the league, averaging 5.5 runs per game. That's not even to mention that Los Angeles has finished with the Over on this prop in eight of its previous nine games.
Considering how the Orioles gave up an average of seven runs in Rodriguez's last six starts, I like the idea of the Dodgers' bats being productive this evening.
