Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Championship Sunday

The Detroit Red Wings face the New York Islanders with both teams looking to improve from rough seasons. The Red Wings have a 21-18-8 record and are near the bottom of the Atlantic Division while the Islanders have a 23-22-5 record and with only one win in their last 10 games have fallen to the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. Both teams look to rebound in their divisions and the Eastern Conference and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Red Wings are having a rocky season despite their offense stepping up and scoring 3.04 goals per game. Dylan Larkin and Dominik Kubalik have scored 29 goals and 48 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Lucas Raymond, Andrew Copp, and David Perron have combined for 34 goals and 54 assists while defensemen Filip Hronek and Moritz Seider have added 10 goals and 47 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has stepped up but the defense has been awful, allowing 3.30 goals per game. Filip Hronek, Jake Walman, and Olli Maatta have combined for 7.3 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will.
