The 2022-23 NHL season goes on with an 11-game Tuesday card when the Detroit Red Wings travel to take on the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference clash at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Detroit is in sixth in the Eastern Conference wild-card standings, nine points behind Pittsburgh with six games left. They must win all of their remaining games and get a lot of help if they are going to make the playoffs.
Dylan Larkin led Detroit in the victory, netting a hat trick, including scoring the final two goals of the game. Larkin now has 31 goals and has five goals and eight points over his last five games. The Red Wings are 22nd in goals per game (2.93), but have not been as good lately, averaging 2.60 goals per game over the last 10. The Red Wings are connecting on 23.1% of their power-play chances on the road.

Alex Nedeljkovic was solid in the net for Detroit, stopping 43 shots. However, Ville Husso (25-19-6, 3.01, .899) will likely get the start and could very well start all of the remaining games as long as Detroit still is not eliminated. He has struggled recently, allowing five goals in each of his last two starts. Detroit is 21st in goals against average (3.28) and 19th in penalty killing (78.5%).
