The Detroit Red Wings defeated the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, 5-3. That was the first contest of a three-game road trip. The Red Wings are 8-9-1 on the road this season.

This game was tied after two and San Jose took the lead just before the 10-minute mark of the third, but the Red Wings responded with three unanswered goals to earn the victory. David Perron scored the tying and go-ahead goals and Lucas Raymond finished with three assists. Raymond now has five points over his last three games. Detroit is one of the best scoring teams in the NHL, ranked fifth in goals per game (3.58), and has a solid power-play at 22.2%, 13th overall.

Alex Lyon (6-4-0, 2.53, .917) made 24 saves to earn the victory. He has been filling in with Ville Husso out, joining James Reimer (3-6-2, 3.41, .889) to man the goaltending duties for the Red Wings. This has not been a great goaltending combination, as Detroit is 26th in goals-against average (3.45).
