The Detroit Red Wings face the Florida Panthers with both teams looking to build off of strong seasons. The Red Wings have a 22-16-5 record and with two wins in a row, they have leaped into fourth place in the Atlantic Division. The Panthers have a 27-13-3 record and with eight wins in their last 10 games, they have leaped into second place in the Atlantic Division. Both teams look to remain near the top of the Eastern Conference and the upcoming game should be a great one.

The Red Wings are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.56 goals per game with nine goals in their last two games. Alex DeBrincat, Lucas Raymond, and Dylan Larkin have scored 46 goals and 66 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense is great as well. Daniel Sprong, J.T. Compher, and Andrew Copp have combined for 28 goals and 45 assists while defensemen Shayne Gostisbehere and Moritz Seider have added 12 goals and 40 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.35 goals per game. Moritz Seider and Ben Chairot have combined for 3.5 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. The bright spot has been the play of goaltender Alex Lyon who has a .922 save percentage and a 2.58 goals-against average on 434 shots with 7.9 goals saved above average.
