The Detroit Red Wings face the Dallas Stars with both teams having strong seasons. The Red Wings have a 14-8-4 record and are in fourth place in the Atlantic Division while the Stars have a 15-8-3 record and are in second place in the Central Division. The Red Wings are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.73 goals per game. Alex DeBrincat, Lucas Raymond, and J.T. Compher have combined for 28 goals and 38 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Daniel Sprong, Robby Fabbri, and David Perron have contributed 21 goals and 22 assists while defensemen Shayne Gostisbehere and Mortiz Seider have added nine goals and 27 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.15 goals per game with 11 goals in the last two games. Ben Chiarot and Jake Walman have combined for 2.9 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to carry the puck into the offensive zone and easily find open shots on the net.
