Having won two of three outings on their current four-date road trek, the Detroit Red Wings (4th in Atlantic Division) will try to round off their trip on a high while visiting the Dallas Stars (2nd in Central), who have dropped two of their past three domestic decisions.

A two-game winning run came to an end for the Detroit Red Wings (13-8-5), who followed up 4-2 road triumphs at the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Tampa Bay Lightning with a 5-1 fiasco against the Florida Panthers at FLA Live Arena on Thursday. Jonatan Berggren (4 goals, 9 points this year) tallied Detroit’s only marker during power play at 8:08 of the second period when the hosts were already leading 3-0. With that, the Red Wings lost for the fourth time in their past six overall outings (2-3-1), but only for the first in their most recent five road contests (4-1-0).

Goalie Alex Nedeljkovic (2-4-2 on the season with a 4.09 GAA and a .880 save percentage) stopped 36 shots on Thursday, but is set to vacate the crease for Ville Husso ahead of Saturday’s trip to Texas. Husso, who has posted an 11-4-3 total for the rolling year with a 2.54 GAA and a .916 save percentage, is yet to face the Dallas Stars, but has gone 22-3-3 against the Western Conference in his career with a 2.27 GAA and a .925 save percentage. The Red Wings, meanwhile, are sitting 15th in least goals scored per game this season (3.12), 16th in most goals allowed on average (3.12), 19th in power play (21.9%) and 13th in penalty kill (79.7%).
