The Detroit Red Wings (23-16-5) are on the road to play the Carolina Hurricanes (24-14-5) on Friday at 7 p.m. ET. Detroit is coming off a 3-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Wednesday while Carolina hasn't played since a 5-2 loss to the LA Kings on Monday.

Detroit is currently third in the Atlantic Division – ahead of Thursday's games – but is only a point up on the Toronto Maple Leafs and two points up on the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Red Wings are currently 23-16-5 and are led by their offense as Detroit is averaging 3.55 goals per game which ranks fourth in the NHL while allowing 3.32 goals per game which ranks 23rd.

The Red Wings are coming off an upset 3-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Wednesday. In the game, Detroit trailed 2-1 after the second period and tied it up just under 14 minutes to go. The game went to OT and it was Detroit who go the overtime win to extend their win streak to three games.
