Detroit Red Wings vs. Anaheim Ducks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-15-2022

Detroit Red Wings (7-5-3) vs. Anaheim Ducks (4-10-1)

The Detroit Red Wings continue their four-game road trip Tuesday, November 15, 2022, when they face off against the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. These two interconference foes wrap up their two-game regular-season series, as the Red Wings routed the Ducks 5-1 as -130 home favorites on October 23.

Detroit is listed as a slight -113 road fave this time around. Anaheim sits at +102 moneyline odds, and the totals are set at 6.5 goals. Last season, Detroit and Anaheim split a two-game set, and each team emerged victorious on the home ice.

The Detroit Red Wings are coming off a 4-3 defeat at the Los Angeles Kings this past Saturday. After a couple of home losses to Montreal 3-2 in a shootout and New York Rangers 8-2, the Red Wings extended their losing streak to three games with another lousy defensive performance. They trailed 4-1 at the end of the second period, and Alex Nedeljkovic yielded four goals on just 21 shots.

”I hate harping on this, our margin for error is not great, so we’re not going to outscore our mistakes,” Detroit coach Derek Lalonde said. ”Our mistakes ended up in the back of our net.”

Ville Husso guarded the cage in that comfortable victory over the Anaheim Ducks in October, and the 27-year-old netminder will get the starting call Tuesday at Honda Center. Husso is 5-2-2 with a 2.54 GAA, .920 save percentage, and a couple of shutouts in 2022-23.

The Red Wings are yielding 3.27 goals per game (20th in the NHL) while scoring 2.93 in a return (tied-20th). Their special teams are far away from an elite level and rank 21st in power-play percentage (11-for-57) and 17th in penalty-killing percentage (36-of-46). Winger Dominik Kubalik leads the way for Detroit with seven goals and 11 assists, while center Dylan Larkin has seven goals and ten dishes on his season tally.
