Detroit Pistons (10-30) vs. Golden State Warriors (20-18)
The 2022-23 NBA season goes on with a huge 12-game Wednesday slate including the cross-conference showdown between the Detroit Pistons and Golden State Warriors at Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
The Pistons meet the Warriors for the second and final time this regular season. Detroit stunned the reigning champs 128-114 as 7.5-point home dogs on October 30. The Pistons head to California without Cade Cunningham (leg) and Marvin Bagley (hand), while the Warriors miss Stephen Curry (shoulder), Andre Iguodala (hip), Jonathan Kuminga (foot), and James Wiseman (ankle). Golden State also listed Andrew Wiggins (illness) as doubtful to play.
The Detroit Pistons (10-30; 17-20-3 ATS) continue their five-game road trip that started with a 132-118 defeat at the Chicago Bulls on December 30. After a surprising 116-104 victory at the Minnesota Timberwolves on New Year’s Eve, the Pistons were trounced by the Portland Trail Blazers 135-106 this past Monday.
Detroit yielded a thumping 74 second-half points at Moda Center in Portland. The Pistons shot just 41.5% from the field (6-for-18 from deep) and posted a terrible 16/21 assist-to-turnover ratio. Only four guys scored in double figures including Bojan Bogdanovic, who went 8-for-15 from the field and 3-for-3 from the foul line for 21 points.
“They were on a mission,” Pistons coach Dwane Casey said. “We didn’t meet their intensity. Especially on the offensive end, we got stagnant. Then defensively, we didn’t lock in on our switching.”
Headed to the Bay on Wednesday.

The Pistons allow 118.5 points per 100 possessions (29th in the NBA) on 57.0% shooting from inside the arc (27th) and 35.8% from downtown (tied-13th). They force just 13.6 turnovers per 100 possessions (25th). On the offensive side of things, Detroit tallies 111.2 points per 100 possessions (25th) on 50.7% shooting from inside the arc (30th) and 35.3% from downtown (16th).
