The Detroit Pistons put an end to a six-game losing streak on Wednesday night with a 121-101 home win over the Orlando Magic. The win was marred by a fight just before halftime between Killian Hayes and Hamadou Diallo of the Pistons vs. Moritz Wagner of Orlando. All three players were ejected, which further depleted an injury-riddled Pistons squad. Alec Burks set a new season-high with 32 points and Saddiq Bey added 28 points as the Pistons rolled to a win. Burks went 10-for-10 in the game before missing his final shot, which would have given him a perfect 7-of-7 from long range. He was also a perfect six-for-six from the free-throw line.

“I'm really proud of our guys,” Pistons coach Dwane Casey said. “We have had a lot of adversity, and with a young team, it is great to see them play like this.”

The Pistons have already lost star guard Cade Cunningham for the season and are dealing with the nagging injuries to Marvin Bagley II, who is listed as day-to-day. Other players have had to step up including Burks and rookie center Jalen Duren. Juren had seven points and 18 rebounds in the win over Orlando as he continues to shine in his new starting role with Detroit. Duren is averaging 10 points and 13 rebounds since being put in the starting lineup and is shooting 64% from the field. As a team, Detroit is just 28th in the NBA in field goal percentage but are a solid 8th in rebounding thanks to the efforts of Duren amongst other Pistons.
