Detroit Pistons vs. Atlanta Hawks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-21-2023

Detroit will go on the road for the first time in a week when it travels to Atlanta on Tuesday night. The Pistons have lost three straight games and 14 of their last 15 games, falling to Miami by 12 points on Sunday. Atlanta has dropped three of its last four games, including a 126-118 setback at San Antonio its last time out.

Detroit has consistently been the worst team in the NBA this season, winning consecutive games just once. The Pistons have lost 14 of their last 15 games and are entering this contest on a three-game skid. All three of those losses have been by double digits, including Sunday’s 112-100 loss to Miami. They were tied with 3:30 remaining, but Miami’s Tyler Herro scored 10 of his 19 points after that point. James Wiseman led Detroit with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Killian Hayes finished with 13 points and 11 assists. Jalen Duren exited in the third quarter after hitting heads with Kevin Love under the basket, and he is questionable for this game.

The Pistons have a laundry list of injury issues coming into this matchup, as they are playing without leading scorer Bojan Bogdanovic, Cade Cunningham, Hamidou Diallo and Isaiah Stewart. Meanwhile, Alec Burks, R.J. Hampton and Isaiah Livers join Duren with questionable tags. Rookie Jaden Ivey is the team’s third-leading scorer (15.3), but he is the top option available heading into this game. The Pistons rank No. 28 in the NBA in scoring (110.9), and they are facing an Atlanta defense that is No. 24 (117.6). They have the worst record in the NBA and are sitting six games back of Charlotte at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
