Detroit at Northern Kentucky – 1/8/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Detroit Mercy Titans will travel and take on the Northern Kentucky Norse in Horizon League play from the Truist Arena. NKU leads the all-time series 10-4 after winning both meetings last season.

Detroit Mercy fell to 6-10 after losing to Wright State in Dayton. The Titans failed to hold on to a halftime lead, and lost another close game to the Raiders, 90-85. Detroit scores 74.7 points per game, while allowing 76.5 ppg, and shooting 42.5% from the floor.

Four of Detroit’s last five losses have been so narrow, but you have to wonder if this team mentally has what it takes to cross the finish line. Fifth-year guard Antoine Davis continues to be box office for the Titans. Davis has surpassed the 30-point mark in three of his last six games, and he scored 31 points against Milwaukee. Davis is one of the country’s leading scorers at 24.8 ppg. Alabama State transfer Gerald Liddell (16.8 ppg, 12.8 rpg) has been a problem on the glass, but after leaving the Milwaukee game early and missing the Wright State matchup, his status will definitely be worth watching for this one.
