The DePaul Blue Demons will travel and take on the Providence Friars in Big East action from the  Amica Pavilion on FS1. This will mark the 30th time Providence and DePaul face off, and the Friars lead the all-time series, 21-8, after a New Year’s Day victory in Chicago.

DePaul improved to 9-10 after beating Xavier in Chicago. The Blue Demons managed to stick around with the Musketeers for 40 minutes, and they came away with the one-point upset victory.DePaul is scoring 71.8 points per game, while allowing 75.6 ppg, and shooting 41.3% from the field.

DePaul came away with their biggest win of the season, but they face an uphill battle here on the road. The Blue Demons are 3-5 in conference play, but they’ve won two of their last three games. Former OU guard Umoka Gibson played big against Xavier, pacing the team with 22 points to bring his averages to 15.3 ppg and 5.1 apg. Javon Johnson scored 18 points in the win over Villanova, and he leads DePaul in scoring (15.8). LIU transfer Eral Penn leads the team in rebounding (7.5) after grabbing 10 boards in each of the past two games.
