DePaul at Marquette Prediction – Basketball Picks 2/25/23

The DePaul Blue Demons will travel to Milwaukee to meet the Marquette Golden Eagles in Big East play from the Fiserv Forum on FS1. Marquette leads the all-time, 78-44, after winning three of the last four meetings.

DePaul dropped to 9-19 after losing to Butler in Chicago. The Blue Demons watched their rare halftime lead disappear, and suffered a draining one-point loss to the Bulldogs, 59-58. DePaul is scoring 71.3 points per game, while allowing 75.9 ppg, and shooting 42.3% from the field.

DePaul falling to Butler at home by a single point is both the beauty of Big East basketball, and possibly the most painful way they could lose at this point, after what they’ve endured this season. The Blue Demons are 3-14 in Big East action, with a 2-10 road record. DePaul plays through former OU guard Umoka Gibson and veteran forward Javan Johnson. Gibson had another big game against the Bulldogs, dropping a game-high 25 points, and he’s up to team-leads of 16.5 ppg and 4.6 apg. Forward Da’Sean Nelson is third on the team at 10.8 ppg after scoring 15 points or more in three of six games in February.
