Denver will try to bounce back from its first loss of the month when it travels to San Antonio on Friday night. The Nuggets had won four straight games prior to their 117-96 loss to Chicago on Wednesday. San Antonio picked up two rare wins last week, but it lost back-to-back games against Houston over the weekend.
Outside of a three-game losing streak in the middle of December, Denver has been in phenomenal form throughout the campaign. The Nuggets won eight out of nine games prior to their loss to Chicago on Wednesday, beating Miami, Dallas, Cleveland and Memphis during that stretch. They had their hot streak come to an end on Wednesday, as Chicago took over midway through the third quarter and rolled from there. Nikola Jokic made just 7 of 16 shots, snapping a 51-game streak in which he shot at least 50% from the floor. He finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists.

The Nuggets were an NBA-best 30-4 at home heading into the surprising loss to Chicago, as they had won 24 of their last 25 games. They lead the league in field goal and 3-point percentage, but they hit just 42% of their shots against Chicago and posted their second-fewest point total of the year. Guard Jamal Murray knocked down career 3-pointer No. 804, tying Will Barton for the franchise record. Jokic has not posted a triple-double in two straight games, but he is still averaging one at 24.3 points, 11.8 rebounds and 10.0 assists. The Nuggets rank seventh in the NBA in scoring (116.8) and are facing a San Antonio defense that is dead-last in the league in points allowed per game (122.3).
