The defending champions finally showed some weaknesses as they lost two of their last three games. The NBA season is long, and road trips can be difficult as the Nuggets lost in Houston and New Orleans during the stretch. The Nuggets are currently tied for the top spot in the Western Conference with Minnesota with 9-3 records. In their last game, Nikola Jokic had 26 points, 18 assists and 16 rebounds, but it was not enough as they long to the Pelicans by five.

Jokic leads the Nuggets in points, rebounds and assists with 29.7 PPG, 14.1 RPG, and 9.2 APG. Jokic leads the league in rebounding by a decent margin, the next highest in the league is at 12.9 per game. The Joker has scored over 30 in five of his last seven games. The Nuggets have a balanced attack from their supporting cast. Michael Porter Jr. is second on the team with 16.4 PPG, Jamal Murray is right behind at 16.3 PPG, and Aaron Gordon cont ributes 14.3. The Nuggets have well defined roles, Porter Jr. and Murray can knock down perimeter jump shots, Gordon catches lobs and plays bully ball in the post, and the offense runs through Jokic. Jamal Murray has been out of the lineup with a hamstring injury.

Reggie Jackson adds 11.0 PPG and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope brings another 9.5 PPG. The Nuggets rank 3rd in offensive efficiency and 7th in defensive efficiency according to dunksandthrees.com. The Nuggets operate their offense through Jokic, leading to long possessions as the Nuggets rank 27th in the league in tempo.
