Denver Nuggets at New Orleans Pelicans – 12/4/22 NBA Picks and Prediction

The Denver Nuggets travel to the Smoothie King Center to battle the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday afternoon.

The Denver Nuggets have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their last seven games, but they will be hoping to bounce back after having their four-game win streak halted by the Hawks in a 117-109 road loss on Friday. Nikola Jokic led the team with 24 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, Jamal Murray added 20 points with seven assists while Bones Hyland chipped in with 16 points on six of 11 shooting off the bench. As a team, the Nuggets shot 52 percent from the field and 12 of 32 from the 3-point line as they struggled right from the start and managed just 21 points in the second quarter to trail by as many as 16 points which was too much to overcome despite exploding for 35 points in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans have been in great shape as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after blowing past the slumping Spurs in a 117-99 road win on Friday. Zion Williamson led the way with 30 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists, Jonas Valanciunas added 21 points with 11 rebounds on eight of 11 shooting while Trey Murphy chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Pelicans shot 43 percent from the field and 12 of 42 from the 3-point line as they struggled to match the Spurs’ energy early on and trailed going into halftime, but they didn’t lose focus and eventually came alive in the second half where they exploded for 68 points to make it look easy in the end. CJ McCollum had a rough night as he finished with just five points on two of 11 shooting, but the rookie Murphy provided a real spark with five 3-pointers.
