Delaware State at Villanova – 11/14/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Delaware State Hornets and Villanova Wildcats face off on Monday in a non-conference college basketball showdown at The Pavillion.

Villanova had some big changes this offseason, and it has been a rocky start to the season. Villanova opened up the season by beating La Salle 81-68, but in the last game against the Temple Owls, they were defeated 68-64. Villanova only scored 24 points in the first quarter and they couldn’t climb out of the hole in the second half. Guard Caleb Daniels was the top player for Villanova scoring 19 points while grabbing three rebounds and adding two assists. In this game, Villanova’s offense can’t get out to a slow start.

On the other side of this matchup is Delaware State and they sit with a 1-1 record heading into this game. In the first game against Virginia Tech the defense was awful giving up 95 points, and they were blown out. In the first game against Immaculata, the Hornets offense was much better scoring 104 points and they were able to win in blowout fashion. Forward Brandon Stone had a big game finishing with 25 points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Khyrie Staten also had a big game finishing with 21 points and six assists. In this game, if the Hornets want any chance to secure a victory the defense is going to need to be a lot better than it was in the first game.
