The #21 Dayton Flyers are the “road” team as they take on the Wisconsin Badgers Wednesday afternoon. Dayton downed Robert Morris 60-51 at home Saturday in their previous contest. Wisconsin defeated Green Bay 56-45 at home last Tuesday in their most recent contest. In the all-time series between the programs, the Badgers won the lone meeting, taking a 105-93 victory on the road back on December 28, 1961.

Dayton bounced back from a loss to UNLV on the road as they managed to take down Robert Morris Saturday at home. The Flyers improved to 3-1 on the season and look to earn a second straight victory in this contest to advance to the semifinals. Against Robert Morris, Dayton led 24-9 with 7:36 to play in the first half and held a nine-point lead at halftime. The Flyers never really pulled away in the game but their lead didn’t drop below five in the second half as they held the Colonials at bay. Dayton shot 42.1% from the floor, including seven of 24 from three-point range, and held Robert Morris to 34.5% shooting in the game. DaRon Holmes II led the Flyers with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists in the win.

The Flyers come into this contest putting up 64.8 points per game, which is 312th in the nation, on the season. Dayton pulls down 40 rebounds per contest and hands out 14.3 assists per game on the year. The Flyers are a stellar 19th in scoring defense as they give up an average of 54.8 points per game. DaRon Holmes II leads the team with 13.3 points plus six rebounds a night this season. Mustapha Amzil (12.3 points, 5.3 boards) and Kobe Elvis (11.3 points, 4.5 boards, 3.3 assists) are good secondary scoring options. Koby Brea, Mike Sharavjamts, Toumani Camara, R.J. Blakney and Malachi Smith are important role players for coach Anthony Grant. Dayton shoots 41.8% from the field as a team on the year. The Flyers sink seven three-pointers a game while shooting 29.5% from beyond the arc. Dayton is shooting a below average 69.5% at the free throw line this season.
