Dayton at Davidson – 12/31/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Dayton Flyers and Davidson Wildcats face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at Belk Arena. ‘When these two teams faced off in March it was Dayton that secured the 82-76 victory. 

Dayton comes into this game with a 9-5 record overall and they have gone 6-9 against the spread. In the last game against Duquesne, Dayton’s defense gave up only 57 points, and that was enough to secure the 12-point victory. Two games ago against Alcorn State, they were able to secure an 88-46 victory. Dayton is averaging 67 points while their defense is giving up 58.8 points per game. DaRon Holmes has been the top player averaging 18 points while shooting 58 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from behind the three-point line. 

On the other side of this matchup is Davidson who sits with an 8-5 record and they have gone 6-6 against the spread. On Wednesday they faced off against Fordham and the defense gave up only 43 points on the way to the victory. Desmond Watson finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The defense is ranked 216th and going forward they need the defense to be better. Davidson is averaging 72.8 points while their defense is giving up 69.8 points per game. Guard Foster Loyer is averaging 17.4 points while their defense is giving up 36.7 percent from the field and 37 percent from behind the three-point line.
