Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas

Dartmouth will try to snap its six-game losing streak when it travels to Yale on Friday night in an Ivy League matchup. The Big Green opened conference play with a 74-63 loss to Cornell at home on Sunday, barely failing to cover the 8-point spread. Yale had its two-game winning streak snapped in a conference-opening loss to Columbia last Saturday.

Dartmouth has been one of the worst teams in college basketball this season, with two of its four wins coming against non-Division I teams. The Big Green have lost six straight games coming into this matchup, losing four straight road games in December. They failed to cover the spread in the first three of those losses before playing close games against South Florida and UMass. Dartmouth opened conference play on Sunday against Cornell, coming up short in a 74-63 setback as an 8-point home underdog. The Big Green were trailing by just one point at halftime, but they were outscored by 10 points in the second half.

They are one of the worst offensive teams in the country, ranked No. 352 of 363 teams in KenPom’s adjusted efficiency ratings. Dartmouth is shooting less than 30% from 3-point range (No. 325) and is outside the top 300 in turnover rate and offensive rebounding rate. The Big Green are also the fourth-most inexperienced team in college basketball. They are facing a Yale defense that is No. 18 in field goal percentage and No. 21 in defensive rebounding rate. Senior guard Greg Dolan leads Dartmouth with 13.9 points, 4.4 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game, while sophomore guard Nazir Williams is adding 12.4 points and 3.8 rebounds.
