Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Wildcard Edition

The Dallas Stars (25-12-5-2, 26-18 PL, 17-23 O/U) battle the Vegas Golden Knights (28-14-1-1, 21-23 PL, 18-22 O/U) in a conference showdown on Monday night. The Stars were charged with a home loss by the Flames last time out. The Golden Knights lost a home decision to the Oilers on Saturday. The Golden Knights went 2-1 against the Stars last season.

The Dallas Stars head out on a three-game road trip. Dallas is looking to avoid a third straight defeat. They were dealt a 2-1 overtime road loss to the Rangers on Thursday and a comeback attempt came up short in a 6-5 home defeat at the hands of the Flames on Saturday. The Stars have dipped to 6-3-1 in their last ten games and have plummeted to second in the Central Division.

Jason Robertson has been held scoreless in two straight games but collected two assists in Saturday’s defeat. The 23-year-old sniper has netted four markers this month and has 29 goals and 60 points on the season. Roope Hintz missed his third consecutive game on Saturday due to an upper-body injury. The veteran center is considered questionable for this one. He is missed as the young center is second in team goals with 19 along with 25 assists. Joe Pavelski has collected six points in his last six games. The veteran ce nter now has 43 points and a plus-30 rating.

The Stars will likely have Jake Oettinger in the net after Scott Wedgewood got the start on Saturday. Oettinger is one of the better goalies and continues to excel, recording a 2.28 GAA and a .924 save % accompanied by a 19-6-4 record. Dallas is scoring an average of 3.4 goals, ranking them seventh. They are conceding an average of only 2.6 goals, good for fifth in the league.
