The offense has looked great but the defense looks like one of the best in the NHL, allowing only 1.60 goals per game. Miro Heiskanen and Colin Miller have combined for 1.3 defensive point shares and nine blocked shots to lead the top pairing but the entire defense has looked great with Esa Lindell, Nils Lundkvist, and the rest of the unit creating turnovers in all three zone and limiting shots on th e net. Furthermore, goaltender Jake Oettinger has been great in the net with a .959 save percentage and a 1.25 goals-against average on 121 shots.
