The Dallas Stars face the New York Islanders with both teams looking to build off of strong seasons. The Stars have a 24-11-6 record which is the best in the Central Division while the Islanders have a 22-17-2 record and are in the middle of the Metropolitan Division but look to bounce back from back-to-back losses. Both teams look to improve within their conferences and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Stars are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.51 goals per game with five goals in their recent win. Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and Joe Pavelski have scored 59 goals and 81 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, and Mason Marchment have combined for 33 goals and 51 assists while defenseman Miro Heiskanen has added seven goals and 24 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up for the Stars, allowing only 2.63 goals per game including only three goals in the last two games. Esa Lindell and Jani Hakanpaa have combined for 5.9 defensive point shares and 140 blocked shots while Miro Heiskanen and Colin Miller have combined for 4.8 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Jake Oettinger h as been great in the net with a .922 save percentage and a 2.34 goals-against average on 585 shots.
