Dallas Mavericks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 12-19-2022

Dallas will be looking to bounce back from an overtime loss to Cleveland when it travels to Minnesota on Monday night. The Mavericks have lost four of their last six games following their 100-99 setback against Cleveland on Saturday. Minnesota has won two consecutive games, including a 150-126 win over Chicago on Sunday.

Dallas is still trying to find a consistent winning level this season, as it fell back to the .500 mark with its loss to Cleveland in overtime on Saturday. The Mavericks have lost four of their last six games following a three-game winning streak against the Knicks, Suns and Nuggets earlier this month. They blew out Portland in a 130-110 final last Friday before falling to Cleveland the following day. Dallas had three chances to take the lead in the final minute, including a 30-foot shot as time expired. Four-time All-Star guard Kemba Walker scored 32 points and dished out seven assists—he signed with Dallas on Nov. 29.

The Mavericks played without their starting backcourt of Luka Doncic (quadriceps) and Spencer Dinwiddie (knee) on Saturday. Doncic, who is the second-leading scorer in the NBA at 33.0 points per game, is listed as questionable for this game. Dinwiddie is expected to return, while Davis Bertans (illness), Tim Hardaway (illness) and Dwight Powell (thigh) are all questionable. Dallas has struggled to provide Doncic with enough support this season, ranked No. 21 in the NBA in points per game (111.3). The Mavericks are facing a Minnesota defense that is No. 23, allowing 115.9 points per contest.
